With COP just around the corner, there has never been a more important time for the Green Party voice to be heard loud and clear. Our current political leaders are letting us down, and people are looking around for alternatives.
Now is the moment when we can and must win hearts and minds, and win the argument: that there is no climate justice without social justice.
There is an emerging wave of young intersectional leaders who have transformed politics around the world - from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Jacinda Arden, to German Green Party co-leader Annalena Baerbock and Finland’s Government, which is led by young women.
People are now ready to trust in a different kind of leadership, one that embraces collaboration, empathy, and radical ideas. Under the Co-Leadership of Amelia and Tamsin, we can turn COP into the moment where Greens become the voice of the climate in the press and media.
With an MSc Environmental Technology and 7 years as part of the Green Party leadership team, Amelia has the knowledge and the authority to talk on these issues. Tamsin has influenced organisations and governments to declare climate emergencies, built community power with BIPOC-led communities in the streets that surround London City Airport, and was part of the Marshall Island delegation at COP24. Both have extensive communication and media experience.
We are part of a generation of people failed by successive governments - from tuition fees to cuts to climate change - and won’t let the next generation experience the same political blows.
